Let's take a look!

A England Crown of Thistles

When swatches of the A England Elizabeth & Mary collection started popping up, I really wanted the entire collection, since all the polishes are so unique and stunning as I've come to expect from that brand.  Unfortunately I couldn't afford the entire collection, but there was one polish I knew I had to have: Crown of Thistles.

This polish is the most amazingly vibrant rich orchid with a smooth holo, and it covered in one perfectly smooth coat.  I absolutely love this!

Have you picked up any polishes from the newest A England Collection yet?  Did you fall for this beauty like I did?  :)

Girly Bits: Push It

Wow, it's been a month since I last posted!  Time really flies when you're busy - I'm just on the tail end of a 3-week tour performing all over Eastern Canada, and it's been great!

I'm going to try to clear out my drafts folder a bit over the next couple weeks, so here's a gorgeous polish from Girly Bits that I wore in the summer but haven't shared with you yet.  Take a look at Push It!

Push It is the silver sister to The Power of Love, which I posted about here.   This polish is a silver holo, with silver and copper glitters mixed in.  The mix of the glitters in the holo base gives this polish some awesome visual texture, and you get very different looks depending on the lighting.

Two coats of this polish give perfect coverage, and I've topped it with one coat of LaCC 2013 top coat.  The first photo is in direct sunlight to show the holo (which is stronger in real life,) and the second photo is in indirect natural light, so you can see the glitters better.

This polish is part of the Girly Bits 80's Girl Band Collection, and you can purchase it and lots of other stunning Girly Bits polishes online here.  You can also like the Girly Bits Facebook page to keep up to date with new releases.

It's time for me to sign off for now - I've got another show tonight and will be heading to the theatre soon!  In the mean time, what do you think of this polish?  Are you a fan of holos with glitters mixed in?  Let me know in the comments!  :)

Girly Bits: The Power of Love

Good morning!  I've got another amazing Girly Bits polish to share with you today: The Power of Love.

The Power of Love is a stunning lilac holo with small silver and purple glitters mixed in.  This polish really won me over - the lilac shade is so delicate and pretty, while the mix of holo and glitters gives it some really interesting depth.  Two flawless coats for perfect coverage, and I'm wearing one coat of LaCC 2013 top coat in the photos.  The first photo is in direct sunlight, where you can really see the holo, and the second photo is in indirect natural light, so you can see the glitters better.

This polish is part of the Girly Bits 80's Girl Band Collection, and you can purchase it and lots of other stunning Girly Bits polishes online here.  You can also like the Girly Bits Facebook page to keep up to date with new releases.

Luckily for me, the weather here is giving no hint of the end of summer anytime soon, so I've still got a while to wear lovely pastel and holo shades like this one!  ;)  What do you think of this polish?

Floral Pirouette

Last Friday I received a huge dump of mail all at once - a Valentine's Day package from my family which was a lovely surprise, some boring forms from my dad to do with my EU citizenship application, two new polishes to review from Candeo Colors, and my order of piCture pOlish Pirouette from Nail Polish Canada!  It's not hard to guess what's featuring in today's post...

I wasn't in the mood for swatching, but couldn't decide what polish to wear either - so I combined Candeo Colors Night Flight and piCture pOlish Pirouette into this cute floral double-accent mani!

Pirouette was definitely an impulse buy for me - I knew the particular shade of pink wouldn't be flattering on my skin, but the holo and shimmer was so pretty and come on, it's call Pirouette!!  How is the ballerina in me supposed to resist that?  (And if you're wondering, yes, I have the A England Ballerina Collection in my possession and I will show it to you eventually... Be prepared for a lengthy post including a lesson in the history of ballet!!)

My index and pinky fingers are wearing two perfect coats of piCture pOlish Pirouette, topped with a coat of Seche Vite.  The dots are Cult Nails Time Traveller, only because the navy I used on the other nails wasn't quite as opaque as I would have liked for dots.

My two floral nails are two coats of Candeo Colors Night Flight, which I'll have a full swatch and review of here soon (along with one more Candeo Color polish!)  The flowers are mainly Pirouette, with highlighting and shadowing in Essie Fiji and LaCC 1950, respectively.  The leaves are Essie Mojito Madness with highlights in LaCC 1968.  One coat of Seche Vite to finish off those nails as well!

I really liked this look, and thought it was a nice escape from the all-dark manis I've gravitated towards for the past few months.  Unfortunately the shade of pink in Pirouette doesn't look good on my skin (it's less obvious in photos) but it's just so pretty, and there was no way I could resist that name!  ;)

How do you like this mani?  I'd love to hear what you think, leave a comment!  :)

Lacquer Lust, Polished by KPT, & Serum No.5 Christmas Trio

Good morning!  Three more Nutcracker shows here, and I go home tomorrow night, finally!  I haven't been home or seen any of my family or friends there since I left at the beginning of September, so I'm pretty excited!  Although we do have to do five more Nutcracker shows there after Christmas...

Anywho, today I've got another Christmas trio of polishes to share.  This time it's a collaboration between three awesome indie brands, two of which are new to me!  I've of course had my fair share of experience with Lacquer Lust, but this was my first time trying both Polished by KPT and Serum No.5; read on to see more swatches and hear my thoughts!  :)

Birthstone Holo Gradient

Good morning!  After swatching all of the Lacquer Lust Birthstone Holos (Part 1; Part 2), I was inspired to try my first holographic gradient.  I found four of the polishes that went together nicely, and I'm really happy with how it turned out!  :)

Sunlight
Artificial light
I started with a base of the lightest colour, Diamond.  Once that was dry, I sponged on the gradient with the following polishes (lightest to darkest): Diamond, Pink Tourmaline, Ruby, and Garnet.  It's all topped off with a coat of Seche Vite for a smooth finish.

Sunlight
Sunlight
And now, a little word from my friends.....

Who and Dr. Renata's Section
So during the year Emma has two best friends, Dominic and Renata, both dancers and a great motivation to her! We've decided to write this section at the bottom of a few of her posts, maybe once a week, or whenever we feel like it. So, Renata says "Hola!!" and Dominic says "Hello there!!". By the way, my (Dominic's) last name is "Who" after Doctor Who. Not joking. Renata is an aspiring dancer who also manages (which blows my mind) to be in a part time online University course, wishing to get a PHD in psychology and become a doctor! So basically, we're both doctors (sort of)! Goodbye for now!

Enchanted Polish: Time To Pretend

It's the last week of school and things are pretty crazy around here, but I've got a quick post today.  This is my very first Enchanted Polish, which I managed to snag from the restock at Nail Polish Canada !  :D

I hadn't done any research before the restock as to which polishes I wanted, probably because I didn't know it was happening, haha.  I just happened to stumble upon a Facebook post announcing the restock three minutes before it went live, so I quickly grabbed this beauty and checked out before I could get cart-jacked.  ;)

To preserve my precious bottle, I layered one coat over Dior Purple Revolution (might as well go all-out, right?) and topped it with one coat of Seche Vite, which didn't dull the holo.

There's TONS of photos, a mix of regularly-lit and outdoors to show the absolutely amazing holo and colour shift.  I'm in love!!

I wore this mani for two whole days, and still didn't want to take it off!  What do you think of this beauty?
Will you be trying to grab any Enchanted Polishes soon?  This was my first, but I think I'm definitely going to have to get more... Uh-oh, down the rabbit hole I go!

Colors by Llarowe - Holos

I was pondering what to post this morning, when I suddenly remembered that the Colors by Llarowe polishes are launching today and I hadn't shared any of my swatches.  So, what have I got to show you this morning?  Colors by Llarowe holos, of course!! :D

I'm awful at narrowing down photos, so this is pretty picture-heavy.   Trust me, you'll thank me for it.

Color Club: Beyond

This morning I've got a quick swatch of a beautiful polish!  Color Club Beyond is a black linear holographic polish from the Halo Hues Collection.

I used two coats for full opacity, no issues with the formula.  I top coated with Seche Vite, and it didn't noticeably dull the holo. Yay!

I wasn't really on the hunt for these polishes like a lot of others were, since I'm not a huge holo fan in general.  This was the only polish that caught my eye in other people's blog posts, so when I saw it on sale at Winners (the last bottle, too!) I decided to pick it up.

Boy, am I glad I did!  It's so deep and mysterious in most lighting, but when the light hits it just right, beautiful rainbows appear!  :D  This actually reminds me of unicorn blood from Harry Potter, anyone else?

No?  I know, I'm weird.

I'm not sure where these polishes are readily available, seeing as I just happened upon mine.  However, I know that you can order the Halo Hues Collection (and many other collections) through Llarowe.

I know I'm a little late to the party with this, so which Halo Hues seem to be the general favourites?  Have you picked up any yet?  :)

piCture polish: Monroe

It's been a while (as in old-camera 'a while' *cringe*) since I've posted any piCture pOlish swatches, but boy am I making up for it today with this stunner!  You're in for a treat, but don't blame me for any damage to your keyboard due to drool.  That blame is all on piCture pOlish, for creating this beauty.

Behold the magic that is piCture pOlish Monroe.

Typical flawless piCture pOlish formula, as per usual.  Two dreamy coats, one coat of Seche Vite.  Apparently I forgot to take pictures of this without the studs, sorry!

I'm a devout viewer of the tv series Smash, which makes this polish even better.  The (scripted) show is centered around the making of a Broadway musical about the life of Marilyn Monroe.  Fabulous, catchy original Broadway songs and musical numbers, paired along the inevitable drama and comedy of the rehearsal studio makes this a must-watch for me every week!

piCture pOlish is available at picturepolish.com.au as well as through lots of other network members around the world. Check out the Network for a full list.

Are you as in love with Monroe as I am?  The deep red with rainbow flashes will certainly be a go-to for me whenever I'm in need of a quick but beautiful mani!  :)
