Femme Fatale Cosmetics: Spindleweb & Winter Hyacinth

Hi all!  Apologies for the lack of posting over the past week; I always think I'm going to have more free time than I actually do at these things, and by the time I get back from a long day of dance all I want to do is sleep!  Nevertheless, I've had a pretty productive weekend in terms of blogging stuff, so there should be a couple more posts coming up soon.

Today I've got two super awesome polishes to show you from the Australian indie brand Femme Fatale Cosmetics!  I received four polishes to review, but I took so many photos that I decided to split them up into two posts.  These were my first polishes from Femme Fatale, and I was pretty impressed.  Click the jump to read more on what I thought!  :)

First up is Spindleweb, which is described as "a sheer deep jewel toned blue with strong green shimmers, suitable for layering over other shades rather than wearing alone, and filled with scatterings of blue, green and iridescence in various sizes."  Super complex and beautiful!

First three photos are in the lightbox, last three are in direct artificial light.

I layered one coat over Barry M Watermelon, a deep teal, for this swatch.  I topped it with one coat of Essence Gel Look top coat to smooth out the glitters.  The larger glitters came out of the bottle with no problem, but did require a bit of extra work to spread evenly.  I was expecting this to be my least favourite of the four in the bottles, but I ended up absolutely loving it and it's one of my favourites!

Ah, Winter Hyacinth.  I used to lust after this polish when I first started discovering all the indie brands out there about a year ago, and because of that I was super excited to open my package and find this in there!  It's described as "a soft teal creme polish with white diamonds and hexes, as well as fuchsia and rose hexes both in metallic and holographic finishes."

First two photos are in the lightbox, last three are in direct artificial light.

I built this one up in three coats alone, but the glitters clumped a little; I think it may behave better layered over a similarly-coloured blue base, such as OPI Can't Find My Czechbook.  I do really like this one, but for me it doesn't quite live up to all the hype that once surrounded it.  I love all that depth, though!  One coat of Essence Gel Look top coat to smooth it all out.

Femme Fatale Cosmetics can be found on Facebook and Twitter, and the polishes can be purchased through the Femme Fatale website (ships to Australia only) as well as through several international stockists

Keep an eye out for the last two polishes tomorrow!  ;)  My favourite of these two is clearly Spindleweb, but I'd love to know what you think!  Sound off in the comments!  :)
