Good morning! Three more Nutcracker shows here, and I go home tomorrow night, finally! I haven't been home or seen any of my family or friends there since I left at the beginning of September, so I'm pretty excited! Although we do have to do five more Nutcracker shows there after Christmas...
Anywho, today I've got another Christmas trio of polishes to share. This time it's a collaboration between three awesome indie brands, two of which are new to me! I've of course had my fair share of experience with Lacquer Lust, but this was my first time trying both Polished by KPT and Serum No.5; read on to see more swatches and hear my thoughts! :)
Lacquer Lust's contribution to this trio is Ho Ho Holidays, a beautiful grass-green holo with a strong golden shimmer (which is unfortunately very camera-shy.) I used two thin coats for full opacity; the formula was a dream to work with, which is evidenced by the fact that I didn't do any clean-up for these swatches! No top coat pictured.
Polished by KPT Naughty & Nice is a colour-shifting beauty that goes from a rosy pink when warm to a rich magenta/burgundy when cold. There is an amazing shimmer/micro-flakie hybrid packed in there as well, which just adds to the interest.
I used two coats here, which is opaque when cold but still has a bit of visible nail line when warm. Formula was a bit on the thick side, but was much more manageable after a few drops of thinner. Topped with one coat of LaCC 2013 top coat.
Serum no.5 Yule Light Up My Life is a multicoloured glitter topper packed into a glow-in-the-dark base. I used one coat over OPI Live And Let Die, followed by two coats of Seche Vite to smooth everything out. Formula required a bit of extra work to get an even spread of glitter, but the end result is so worth it!
The Lacquer Lust shop is currently closed for the holidays, but you can still purchase this limited edition trio through Serum No.5 and Polished by KPT.
While I really like Ho Ho Holidays and Naughty & Nice, Yule Light Up My Life was a surprise favourite for me by far!! The best part about this trio is that they can all be worn year-round! Let me hear your thoughts on this trio! :)
