Glitzology

**I gave my blog a Christmas makeover!  Leave a comment, let me know how you like it! :)**

Today I've got five unique polishes from a relatively new indie brand, Glitzology, to show you!  I found out about Glitzology in an indie polish group on Facebook when Stacy (the owner) announced her shop opening.  She was looking for bloggers to review her polishes; her glitter mixes looked so unique and I jumped at the opportunity!  Let's take a look.  :)

First up is one of my favourites, Cruella.  This polish is a mix of various shapes of matte black and white glitter in a clear base.  I layered Cruella over a hot pink jelly, Aphrodite Lacquers It's My Party.  From her Etsy shop: "This polish was inspired by the villain in one of my favorite movies as a kid, 101 Dalmatians."

I love the name of this, so fitting!  The mix of glitter shapes is perfect, and over the hot pink it made for such an eye-catching manicure.  Some of my nuggle (nail muggle) friends still don't understand the concept of matte glitter, I kept getting asked how I "did" the black and white, haha!  Application with Cruella wasn't too bad, after painting on normally I went back over and dabbed a bit to evenly disperse the larger glitter.  Two coats of Seche Vite to smooth it all out.

Lulu Bonanza is "a mix of emerald green, matte white, silver and holo silver. It features lots of green glitter, matte white glitter, hexes, and bars, as well as silver and holo silver squares and shreds."  Whew, that's a mouthful!

From her Etsy shop: "Lulu Bonanza was inspired by my amazing friend Lori, also known as Lulu Bonanza! She and I always liked to go play bingo like little old ladies, so I made a "bingo" inspired color in honor of her! This also makes a nice holiday color, even though I wasn't even thinking about that when I made it (I refuse to think about Christmas until after Halloween!)."

In the bottle this one reminds me of Luigi, but since Christmas is creeping up on us I decided to take this one the holiday route and layer it over China Glaze Velvet Bow.  Unfortunately, Velvet Bow decided to look brown instead of burgundy in the pictures with the green glitter over it.  This one was such a pain in the rear end to photograph, but it looked pretty in person!  Application was same as for Cruella.  Two coats of Seche Vite.

Snow Day is an absolutely stunning polish featuring "lots of ice blue iridescent mica, along with iridescent glitter, and white matte hexes, squares, and bars."  I chose to layer one coat of Snow Day over Nails Inc. Baker Street, though it also looks great over light blues, purples, light pinks, and whites.

This polish seriously glows, it was so bright that it tried to turn my hands a funky colour!  I love how what at first looks like a frosty shimmer is actually blue iridescent flaky bits upon taking a closer look.  Definitely reminiscent of a snowy winter morning!

No issues with application, aside from the odd daredevil bar glitter hanging off the edge of my nail for it's dear life.  One coat of Seche Vite.

Ah yes, Sock Monkey.  "I love sock monkeys! I have an ever growing collection of them. I made this polish to go with my sock monkey Halloween costume. It consists of brown glitters and hexes, tan hexes, white satin hexes, and red hexes and squares and a little bit of gold mica to make it shimmery."

I'm not usually (read: never) a fan of glitters in shimmery bases, so I'll admit that when Stacy asked me which polishes I'd like, I chose this one purely for the name.  Come on, how can you resist Sock Monkey? :)  I ended up being pleasantly surprised, though the photos don't quite do it justice.

Application was alright, only requiring a little dabbing to spread out glitters.  Two coats appeared to have full coverage, but I used three for the photos (you know how cameras are with picking up every flaw), along with one coat of Seche Vite.

As You Wish "was inspired by one of my favorite movies, The Princess Bride. It features lavender glitter, holo lavender glitter, white hexes. holo teal hexes, purple shreds, and a bit of dark pink glitter and violet mica for added shimmer and sparkle."

You'll probably recognize this polish, because I've already featured it here!  I created a gradient with As You Wish over Essie Nice is Nice, and topped with two coats of Seche Vite.

When applying to the full nail, the application is the same as Snow Day.  This mix of glitter is so gorgeous, and it will look amazing over any purple, turquoise, or pink polish!

Many of the Glitzology polishes contain bar glitters, but if you're averse to bar glitters Stacy can make any polish without them upon request.

Stacy is currently having a sale on the Glitzology Etsy shop, where all full-size polishes are only $5!  She's always running some kind of crazy sale, so be sure to like her Facebook page to keep in the loop on the fantastic deals!  When there's not a sale running, you can use the coupon code ILOVEGLITTER20 for 20% off your entire order; this coupon code will be permanently active and is onlytemporarily disabled when she has another sale.

Now head on over to the Glitzology Etsy shop and take good look, there's something there for everyone!  And then come back and leave a comment telling me which ones are your favourites, (yes, plural, because I can guarantee you won't be able to choose just one!)
