I didn't have a very good morning yesterday, but once I came home to a new episode of Castle, lunch with my awesome grandpa, and some nail mail from Chirality Nail Polish, my mood was much improved. If you like my Facebook page, you might have read that I did a ton of swatching yesterday. I managed to get all four of the Chirality polishes done, as well as a few others. This is probably my quickest turnaround time ever, I was just so intrigued by these polishes!
To avoid sounding like a broken record, all polishes are shown in two coats over OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, and topped with one coat of Seche Vite. If you'd like to see them built up alone, check out this post by Paint The Rainbows. Formulas were pretty much the same among all four polishes, though the ones with denser glitter required a bit more work to get an even spread of glitter.
Dahmer Crunch is a milky white base packed with various sizes of black hex glitter. This one is my favourite of the four, it looks like oreo ice cream!! :)
"She watched him take the first bite and begin crunching down. He stared at her nervously with small beads of sweat forming on his forehead. Her eyes never left him. Everything was on the line and dependent on this one moment of truth. Several intense bites happened one after the other in mere moments, even though it felt like hours. All of a sudden, he crunched down, stood up and held his mouth and yelped in pain. "TOLD YA" she exclaimed, picking up the box of Cap'N Crunch. "I told you they cut the roof of your mouth!" The man reluctantly pulled out his wallet to give her his last $20 dollar bill."
Special BTK is a milky white base sprinkled with various sizes of red hex glitter. Reminds me of Christmas!
From the shop: "As she poured her Special K cereal into her bowl, our seemingly bored housewife pulled up her laptop and begin connecting with the fellow neighborhood ladies to organize another HOA meeting. The group chat was harmless at first until our bored housewife's dark side took over; a side any normal person would fear greatly. Soon, this new dark force began calling her female legion to arms, thus becoming an army hellbent on destroying one lone heroine by uncovering deadly secrets that go back decades. They do not understand her differences which they fear greatly and now they must take her down. Will she be able to rise above this army of vicious female soldiers, these troll marauders, these desperate housewives? Their leader is prepared to do battle....right after she's done with breakfast."
Bundy Berries is a milky white base full of blue hex glitters in various sizes. This one makes me think of delicious blueberry yogurt!
"The woman awoke to the sound of her TV in the living room. She turned to look at her alarm clock. 8:30 in the morning. She knew it was him, the love of her life. She got up to use the restroom, make her side of the bed and quietly made her way towards him, hoping to surprise him. As she walked in, she noticed his eyes were glued to the TV watching cartoons, unaware of her presence. She rolled her eyes and sat on the floor next to her son, who looked up and her and kissed her on the lips. She picked up his bowl of unfinished Boo Berries he forgot about and began eating it while watching cartoons with him. It was little things like this that she would never forget."
Raisin Gein is a milky white base (though it looks slightly lilac-tinted in person) with a spotting of purple hex glitters in various sizes. I love the large matte hexes in this one, although only one came out of the bottle.
"When she woke, her head immediately started hurting. Too much alcohol she thought to herself, then looked over to see him still sleeping. She quietly snuck out of his bed and made her way through his house in hopes of finding his kitchen and perhaps something to eat. She opened the pantry to discover some expired chips, dried out peanut butter, and a half-eaten box of Raisin Bran. She blew a sigh of disappointment, rolled her eyes and grabbed the cereal. She made her way to the fridge only to discover there was no milk. Awesome, she thought."
The Chirality Nail Polish Cereal Killer line is available now through both Etsy and BigCartel, and keep up to date on Facebook.
I really enjoyed how this collection was very cohesive, and the stories behind each polish are so well though-out! My favourite has got to be Dahmer Crunch, and Raisin Gein would have to be second. What's your favourite? Did you enjoy the inspiration behind this collection? :)
