Candeo Colors: Night Flight and Super Nova

Good morning! I hope you're all having a good weekend so far!  Today I'm showing you two new polishes from a brand that I haven't shared here in quite a while - Candeo Colors!

Read on for swatches and review of Candeo Colors Night Flight and Super Nova.

Floral Pirouette

Last Friday I received a huge dump of mail all at once - a Valentine's Day package from my family which was a lovely surprise, some boring forms from my dad to do with my EU citizenship application, two new polishes to review from Candeo Colors, and my order of piCture pOlish Pirouette from Nail Polish Canada!  It's not hard to guess what's featuring in today's post...

I wasn't in the mood for swatching, but couldn't decide what polish to wear either - so I combined Candeo Colors Night Flight and piCture pOlish Pirouette into this cute floral double-accent mani!

Pirouette was definitely an impulse buy for me - I knew the particular shade of pink wouldn't be flattering on my skin, but the holo and shimmer was so pretty and come on, it's call Pirouette!!  How is the ballerina in me supposed to resist that?  (And if you're wondering, yes, I have the A England Ballerina Collection in my possession and I will show it to you eventually... Be prepared for a lengthy post including a lesson in the history of ballet!!)

My index and pinky fingers are wearing two perfect coats of piCture pOlish Pirouette, topped with a coat of Seche Vite.  The dots are Cult Nails Time Traveller, only because the navy I used on the other nails wasn't quite as opaque as I would have liked for dots.

My two floral nails are two coats of Candeo Colors Night Flight, which I'll have a full swatch and review of here soon (along with one more Candeo Color polish!)  The flowers are mainly Pirouette, with highlighting and shadowing in Essie Fiji and LaCC 1950, respectively.  The leaves are Essie Mojito Madness with highlights in LaCC 1968.  One coat of Seche Vite to finish off those nails as well!

I really liked this look, and thought it was a nice escape from the all-dark manis I've gravitated towards for the past few months.  Unfortunately the shade of pink in Pirouette doesn't look good on my skin (it's less obvious in photos) but it's just so pretty, and there was no way I could resist that name!  ;)

How do you like this mani?  I'd love to hear what you think, leave a comment!  :)

Indie January: Candeo Colors Smores

I'm back from the dance convention; it was such an amazing weekend!  I was chosen as a Senior Outstanding Dancer Runner-Up, so I got invited to the national finals in New York!  I'm not sure if I'll be able to go yet, but I'd really love to!

Continuing on with Indie January, today's post features Candeo Colors Smores, a mix of small and medium brown hex, black squares, large white hex and small gold holo hex glitters in a clear base.

I layered one dabbed coat of Smores over Essie Little Brown Dress, and I love the result!  One coat of Seche Vite here, though I'd recommend two for a completely smooth finish.

This combination was super cute in person, it totally looked like smores, and it was super glittery!

Candeo Colors polishes are available through Llarowe and the Candeo Colors website; keep up to date on Facebook

There's only two days left on Indie January, and I'm itching to get back to posting nail art, I've got some awesome stuff piled up!  How do you like this polish?  My friend is convinced that it absolutely does not look like smores... Does it look like smores to you?  :)

Indie January: Candeo Colors Orchid

**This is a scheduled post, as I'm out of town for a dance convention.  Where I can't wear nail polish.  Sad Emma. **

Today's Indie January post is a special one, it features one of my first-ever indie polishes!  Candeo Colors Orchid was one of my first lemmings when I started to get into polish, and I was SO excited when I snagged this in a restock on Llarowe; it was such an adrenaline rush!  :P

I blogged about this polish when I got it and have not worn it nearly as much as I should have since, so I figured I'd enjoy wearing it again and show you all in better photos, haha!

I wore two coats of Orchid over Butter London Queen Vic.  It's goopy and a little hard to work with, but completely worth the effort!!  Bonus, only one coat of Seche Vite!

Isn't the combination of shimmer and iridescent/holographic glitter in there just stunning?  Admit it, I'm not the only one who gets hyped up buying polish.  What was your first lemming that you triumphantly crushed?  :)

Indie January: Candeo Colors Sweet Sierra

Today's post will be a short one, I'm going out of town to a dance convention this weekend and need to write up four Indie January posts for the days that I'm gone!  (Probably should have done that sooner, but...)

Anywho, today's polish is Candeo Colors Sweet Sierra, a clear base packed with purple matte hexes and squares, small purple and holo hexes, medium pink hexes, and small iridescent hexes.

I layered one easy coat of Sweet Sierra over Zoya Savita, which I think is the perfect undies.  The pink-toned purple base along with stunning pink shimmer in Savita complimented the pink and purple glitter in Sweet Sierra very nicely.  Two coats of Seche Vite for a smooth finish.

I wasn't sure of this one in the bottle because I'm not really a fan of pink and purple together (though I like them separately) but the purple definitely dominates in this polish!

This glitter topper is super sparkly, a must-have for pink and purple glitter lovers!  What do you think?  Will you be picking this one up?  :)

Indie January: Candeo Colors Skaul

I can't believe it's already Day 20 of Indie January!  Today's polish is yet another from the Candeo Colors Aruba Collection, Skaul.  You can see my posts on the other polishes in this collection here:  Divi Divi, Shelu Blou, Laman Brisa.

All of the names in this collection are in Papiamento, and Skaul means storm.  It is described as an ink-coloured base with strong shimmer that flashes pink, purple, and blue.  The formula was easy to work with, and you're seeing two coats here with one coat of Seche Vite.

I really love the shimmer in this one; as with the rest of the Aruba Collection, it's very prominent and visible in any lighting!  It's constantly flashing pink, purple, and blue, which keeps it from ever looking too dark or completely black.

Formula was perfection, though I'm pretty sure it dried to a satin finish so you'll need a coat of top coat if you want a high-gloss finish.   Overall, this one is definitely a win!

What do you think of this polish?  Do you like dark bases with strong shimmers?  Of the polishes that I've shown you from the Aruba Collection, which is your favourite?  :)

Indie January: Candeo Colors Voodoo

Today's Indie January polish is yet another stunner from Candeo Colors, Voodoo.  This glitter topper is a clear base with small and medium gunmetal hexes, medium gold hexes, and small and large matte purple hexes.

I've had this bottle sitting on my desk for a while, and was never quite sure what to layer it over.  On Sunday I was just wearing two coats of OPI Every Month Is Oktoberfest when I felt it needed a little sprucing up, so I decided to layer Voodoo on top and I love the combination!

The formula on Voodoo was pretty easy to work with, I just brushed over the nail a few times to evenly distribute the glitter, along with a little spot-filling here and there.  Two coats of Seche Vite for a smooth finish.

I'm really happy with this layering combination; I think that the colours play off each other very well!  I like the ratio of base to glitter in Voodoo, it lets just enough of the base colour shine through while helping the glitters pop off of it!  And those matte purple hexes?  LOVE!

Candeo Colors polishes are available through Llarowe and the Candeo Colors website; keep up to date on Facebook

Opinions on this polish?  Do you like my layering combination?  If not, what would you have layered it over? Are there any other layering combinations you'd like to see me do with this?  :)

Indie January: Candeo Colors Divi Divi

Day 12's polish is quite unique, I'm interested to see what you all think of it!  This polish is from the Candeo Colors Aruba Collection, and the names of all the polishes are in Papiamento; Divi Divi is named after the divi tree, which is native to Aruba.  I've already shown two other polishes from this collection, Shelu Blou and Laman Brisa, so take a peek at those if you haven't already!

Candeo Colors Divi Divi is a brown crelly base packed with brown and gold microglitter and gold/green colour-shifting shimmer.  I used three coats for opacity, along with one coat of Seche Vite since it dries to a satin finish.  Formula was a little thick, a couple drops of thinner made it much more workable!

It's quite the interesting mix of colours, isn't it?  My first thought when I saw this in the bottle was "This'll probably look like poop." (Makes me sound intelligent, right?)  But honestly, the brown/green colour combination had me a little worried.

When I see this polish in the photos I'm not quite sold on it, but I remember being pleasantly surprised when I put it on!  The certain tone of brown was quite flattering, and the shimmer added a nice glow!

I can honestly say that I had no clue that Candeo made any shimmer polishes until I received these to swatch.  Apparently I'm not the only one who didn't know they existed; when you google this collection, the only swatches that come up are mine and those done by The Nail Polish Project.  In any case, this collection is severely underrated, all of them are stunning!  I have a couple more to post throughout the month, so keep an eye out!

The Candeo Colors Aruba Collection and other polishes are available through Llarowe and the Candeo Colors website; keep up to date on Facebook

Now, honestly tell me what you think of this polish, inquiring minds want to know!  Beautiful unique polish, or shimmery poop?  :P

Indie January: Candeo Colors Laman Brisa

It's Day 8 of Indie January; today's polish is Candeo Colors Laman Brisa, which in Papiamento means Sea Breeze.  This polish is part of the Aruba Collection, like Day 4's polish Shelu Blou.  Take a look!  :)

Laman Brisa is a sea-foam green/blue base with gold and silver shimmer.  Full coverage in three easy coats, and one coat of Seche Vite for shine since it naturally dries to a satin finish.

Isn't this polish beautiful?  I think it will make a great spring and summer polish! The base colour and the shimmer are so flattering; once again, yay for non-glitterbomb indies!  :)

The Candeo Colors Aruba Collection and other polishes are available through Llarowe and the Candeo Colors website; keep up to date on Facebook

What do you think of this polish; is it something you'd wear?  Are you planning on picking up any other polishes from the Aruba Collection?  :)

Indie January: Candeo Colors Shelu Blou

For Day 4 of Indie January, I'm showing you a beautiful polish from the Candeo Colors Aruba Collection.  Shelu Blou, meaning Sky Blue in Papiamento, is a light periwinkle blue base with pink and purple shimmer.

I've used four thin coats for an opaque finish, the formula was a little on the thick side but no problem to work with.  One coat of Seche Vite.

I really like this polish, it has a soft and delicate look about it while still being bright.  The blue base is a gorgeous colour that would look great on any skin tone, and the pink and purple shimmer is beautiful!

The Candeo Colors Aruba Collection and other polishes are available through Llarowe and the Candeo Colors website; keep up to date on Facebook

I personally love when indie brands venture away from the total glitterbombs; to me a polish like this one will get much more use!  Are you happy to see another indie collection that aren't glitter toppers?  Will you be picking up any of the Aruba Collection polishes?   I've got a couple more from the collection to show you and they'll be scattered throughout the month, so keep an eye out!  :)

Indie January: Candeo Colors Fallen

I'm starting off my Month of Indie with a gorgeous glitter topper, Candeo Colors Fallen.  Since posting every day this month will be a bit of a squeeze for me, the posts will be a little shorter than normal (I usually babble a lot anyways, haha!)  Let's get right to it!

Candeo Colors Fallen is a mix of white and iridescent glitter in a clear base.  I first layered one coat of this over three coats of Essie Macks for a Christmas-y look; I wore my red and white Christmas sweater to match and really enjoyed wearing it this way!

I then decided to layer one coat of Fallen over two coats of Orly Shockwave, since the iridescent glitter seemed to mostly flash blue.  This combination was also beautiful, but my camera didn't want to pick up the blue iridescent flashes over the blue base!

The formula on Fallen was thick but easy to work with.  Only a little dabbing was required to get the larger hexes evenly spread.  Two coats of Seche Vite for a smooth finish.

Fallen is a gorgeous polish, and it looks beautiful over so many different colours!  White glitter is an automatic win, and the iridescent flashes give it that extra special something!  :)

You can find Candeo Colors on their website, Llarowe, and Facebook

Candeo Colors Orchid

I was all ready to write a huge long post declaring my undying love for what has just become my all-time favourite indie polish, but my mom just turned on the TV and Grease is playing... sorry guys, but I love me some Grease.

This is two coats of Candeo Colors Orchid over one coat of Orly Plum Noir.  I just got back from London Drugs where I got a Revlon to use for undies that's closer to the base of Orchid than Plum Noir, so I'll be using that next time.

The first picture is after one day of wear when I stamped on an image from BM-317, and is more colour-accurate than the others.  I'll let the pictures do the talking :)

Also, you may have noticed that I revamped my blog!  I was itching for a change and I'm pretty happy with it.  There's a couple things I'm still fiddling with, but hopefully it'll be all fixed up soon!  :)
