Lacquer Lust, Polished by KPT, & Serum No.5 Christmas Trio

Good morning!  Three more Nutcracker shows here, and I go home tomorrow night, finally!  I haven't been home or seen any of my family or friends there since I left at the beginning of September, so I'm pretty excited!  Although we do have to do five more Nutcracker shows there after Christmas...

Anywho, today I've got another Christmas trio of polishes to share.  This time it's a collaboration between three awesome indie brands, two of which are new to me!  I've of course had my fair share of experience with Lacquer Lust, but this was my first time trying both Polished by KPT and Serum No.5; read on to see more swatches and hear my thoughts!  :)

Enchanted Polish: Time To Pretend

It's the last week of school and things are pretty crazy around here, but I've got a quick post today.  This is my very first Enchanted Polish, which I managed to snag from the restock at Nail Polish Canada !  :D

I hadn't done any research before the restock as to which polishes I wanted, probably because I didn't know it was happening, haha.  I just happened to stumble upon a Facebook post announcing the restock three minutes before it went live, so I quickly grabbed this beauty and checked out before I could get cart-jacked.  ;)

To preserve my precious bottle, I layered one coat over Dior Purple Revolution (might as well go all-out, right?) and topped it with one coat of Seche Vite, which didn't dull the holo.

There's TONS of photos, a mix of regularly-lit and outdoors to show the absolutely amazing holo and colour shift.  I'm in love!!

I wore this mani for two whole days, and still didn't want to take it off!  What do you think of this beauty?
Will you be trying to grab any Enchanted Polishes soon?  This was my first, but I think I'm definitely going to have to get more... Uh-oh, down the rabbit hole I go!

Indie January: Daring Digits Love Dragon

It's Day 22 of Indie January, and today's polish is Daring Digits Love Dragon, a sheer colour-shifting polish that flashes purple, pink, and copper.  I had ordered the set of Harry Potter polishes from Daring Digits for my sister for Christmas, and I was so excited when I opened the package and found this extra polish in there too!

Since Love Dragon is meant to be an effect topper, I layered one perfect coat of it over OPI Every Month Is Oktoberfest, and finished with one coat of Seche Vite.

You can see the pink/purple shift in the photos, but I was having some trouble capturing the copper since it only showed at extreme angles (like the green flashes in Fantasy Fire).

I wore this in the middle of a long glitter-only streak a week or two ago, so the colour-shifting shimmer was a lovely change!

You can find Daring Digits on Etsy, their website, Facebook, and Tumblr

I mentioned at the beginning of the post that I got my sister the Daring Digits Harry Potter polish set for Christmas, and she has kindly (slightly begrudgingly) agreed to let me swatch them, so I'll have those on here soon too!  Love Dragon is a really beautiful polish, and I really enjoyed wearing it.  Thank you so much to Ashley for including this extra polish!  :)

Indie January: CrowsToes A Christmas Crow

Day 6 of indie January brings the first CrowsToes polish of this month.  A Christmas Crow is a blackened-brown jelly base sprinkled with stunning orange/yellow/green colour-shifting microglitter.

Shown here is three coats; it's a little thick to apply, but workable.  I've used two coats of Seche Vite for a completely smooth finish.

Where do I start with this...? OMNOMNOMNOM!!  It's not often that I want to eat up a polish (I hear it's not good for my health) but... this one. Just. GAH.  The darkened jelly base is so vampy and rich and decadent, while the colour-shifting microglitter simply glows!

Gotta love a polish from a Christmas collection that is so wearable year-round! (Yes, I do occasionally wear dark colours in the spring and summer.)

CrowsToes A Christmas Crow is currently in stock on Llarowe, and follow The Polished Crow's blog

Also, I saw Les Misérables yesterday and didn't cry... Do I have a cold heart or what?  :P

Once again, lovely to see an indie polish that's not a total glitterbomb (as CrowsToes polishes usually are.)  Are you as in-love with this polish as I am?  Colour-shifting glitter FTW?  :D

Disclaimer: The products in this post were sent to me for review.

Fantasy Fire

I never thought the day would come when I'd have my own bottle of Max Factor Fantasy Fire, but thanks to a conveniently-timed business trip requiring my dad to go to London a couple weeks ago, I now have this beauty on my nails!

Choosing what to wear this over for the first time really was a no-brainer, I went with Nails Inc. Baker Street (any other Sherlock Holmes fans out there?) which is a beautiful bright royal blue.  Over that I layered two coats of Fantasy Fire, followed by one coat of Seche Vite.

It was impossible to catch the beauty of this in pictures.  It turned my base a stunning glowing indigo, with the colour shift from red to gold to green.  I've said before with various manicures that I couldn't stop looking at my nails, but THIS?  This isn't even close to the same level.

Believe it or not I got way more compliments on this one than I've had on any of my recent stamping manis (which from nuggles (nail muggles) usually elicits a response of "WHOAH how do you do that?!?!?")  This polish is positively glowing and is just so eye-catching!

Hooray for awkward sun pictures taken in the parking lot at the dance studio/my school.  I'm beginning to have problems with my pictures due to the fact that it is now dark when I leave the house in the morning and dark when I come home.  Grrr.

I'd also like to mention that my dad is the best person in the entire world (alongside you, mom!) especially after hunting around every drugstore in London to find this for me!  Because he's super awesome, he actually got me three bottles, but I've yet to figure out what to do with the other two.  Keep an eye out just in case  ;)
