Happy New Year!
I hope you all had a fun New Year's Eve, I know I did! I have a quick post right now with yesterday's mani, but as of this afternoon, I'll be starting my full month of indie-only posts! More on that at the end of this post.
I spent most of yesterday watching movies with my friend so I didn't want to do anything too fancy that I wouldn't be able to appreciate while sitting in a dark room curled up in a blanket, but I still wanted something festive and glittery. I saw my untried bottle of Zoya Electra sitting on my desk, and knew it would be perfect!
Because I wanted absolute full coverage, I layered three coats of Zoya Electra over two coats of China Glaze Silver Lining. The super-fine silver glitter was a perfect base for the bar glitter, giving me full coverage without the appearance of layering. I was extremely surprised by how easily Electra applied, fantastic! Two coats of Seche Vite for a smooth finish.
I enjoyed wearing Electra a lot more than I thought I would, all the holographic bar glitter is absolutely gorgeous when the light hits it!

Trim the Tree
This is the third and final week of Nail Polish Canada's Holiday Nail Art Challenge, and the theme is "trim the tree" (holiday decorations). Since my water marbling skills have recently become more reliable, I tried a Christmas tree water marble!
I started with a base of Essie Mojito Madness and marbled with that polish and China Glaze Holly-Day. After marbling, I painted on China Glaze Twinkling Lights with a striper brush to decorate the tree. I topped the tree with a star-shaped stud, and two coats of Seche Vite.
I'm really glad that I was able to get all the nails looking *kind of* the same; I've really been enjoying water marbling recently! My favourite nail was the index finger, so I'm borrowing a hand pose from Chalkboard Nails to better show that one. ;)
I felt so festive wearing little Christmas trees on my nails! These were very popular among my friends, who are now all asking me for Christmas nails!
Thank you all so much for your votes last week, my Christmas meme nail art placed third in the Week 2 vote. However, it's not over yet! I really need your help this week, you can vote for my Week 3 entry here! I really appreciate every vote! :)

Exotic Encounters of the Lacquered Kind
Now that we're past that awesome post title, I just got my first polish from the China Glaze on Safari Collection (I'm a little behind, I know.) China Glaze isn't easily available to me, but occasionally I'll walk into Winners and find a ridiculous amount of China Glaze and OPI on sale for half-price, and they're usually the more recent collections!
Of the China Glaze they had, Exotic Encounters was the only one that I knew I needed. Had my mom not been watching my every move (she knows it's dangerous when I find nail polish on sale) I probably would have walked out with the entire collection plus a couple OPIs.
I decided to stamp over two easy coats of Exotic Encounters with an animal print pattern from BM-313 and Essie Good As Gold. The colour choices ended up looking slightly turtle-ish to me, but I really like it!
Also, I'd like to let you know that I entered one of my manicures in a contest to win the entire Zoya Gloss Collection at Fab Fatale. Zoya isn't easily available to me where I live, and I'd really appreciate if you could help me. It only takes a minute to go here and click the "Vote" button underneath the manicure you see at the end of the post. (Essie Merino Cool and BM-315)
All the help is much appreciated, and I promise if I win I'll have a ton of awesome jelly sandwiches to share with you! Have a good day!

China Glaze Inner Beauty
Just a super-quick swatch of China Glaze Inner Beauty today. I'm kind of bummed because yesterday I spent almost 3 hours doing a super awesome manicure, but then I got a confirmation for a dance photo shoot today . Let's just say that my nails would have been a little distracting in the otherwise balletic photos.
Anyways, I had to take it off (I did remember to get pictures first though, those to come soon!) and put back on the colour I wore for the entirety of last month at the "godforsaken place where they don't allow nail polish" (thanks for that one Kat) :)
This is three coats of China Glaze Inner Beauty topped with one coat of Seche Vite. (I have a tea bag fix-up on my middle finger if you're wondering...)
That's all I have time for right now. I have to go to ballet class this morning and then the photo shoot this afternoon. Have a great day!
